August 6th 2009 Dippers ( Not ) Okay, I drive up to 50K each year. The greater majority of my driving is in the evening. I just HAVE to vent my anger at the motorists who dip their headlights far too late. Listen up you drivers who are guilty of the following : When you are driving at night, and you see oncoming headlights dip your headlights BEFORE you actually see the oncoming vehicle, dont wait till you see the vehicle and THEN dip then, by that time its far too late youve already BLOODY dazzled 'em !! GRRRRRRRRRR. Learn the most important thing in driving OBSERVATION. If I can see your oncoming headlights then you can see mine. At least 8 out of 10 drivers up here in Scotland are guilty of this, and 95% of the guilty ones are car drivers, whereas truck drivers are usually pretty good at dipping correctly. So drivers, PLEASE take note, use your eyes, look at what's coming toward you. IF you see headlights approaching then DIP those headlights BEFORE you actually see the car and dont wait till you see it, then dip , and STOP dazzling, blinding oncoming motorists.

August 26th 2009 Lockerbie Bomber The early release on compasionate grounds of the Lockerbie bomber Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi has not gone down well with the world. I can understand the relatives of the victims of this horrendous crime being thoroughly angered by the decision of the Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill last week. What I would comment on though is whilst the Scottish reputation is tarnished by the desision to release this man, the biggest harm to the Scottish reputation is the performance by Kenny MacAskill himself. To watch him deliver his 'verdict' was cringworthy embarrasing to say the least. You could just tell he spent hours rehearsing his speech in his mirror back home. He must have spent hour upon hour watching Tony Blair , Barak Obama ( who are most excellent public orators) trying to copy them. The padded shoulder 1980's style suit, the buffed hair, the totally false gaps between each four of five words supposedly for 'effect' was just plain stupid. He looked stupid, sounded stupid and I offer up that he made Scotland look more pathetic to the rest of the world in his delivery style. Now the world has actually heard of Scotland, Im afraid they wont think much of the country through his ridiculous decision to release Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi , and his stupfiyingly blatant attempt to deliver a statesman like speech to cameras. I hope he felt satisfied to see all the Scottish flags flying at the bombers home airport in Tripoli on his touchdown. Whilst there is no real need for the Scottish economy to be worried about trade sanctions abroad as Scotland doesnt really figure in too many worthwhile international trade transactions and has never done, the real problem stems from suits full of bugger all playing in Holyrood making ridiculous decisions.

Thursday August 27th 2009 British Troops in Afghanistan This is the second comment I have felt complusion to write regarding this issue in the last few weeks. Once again we see goood British troops being killed and brought home to their loved ones to be buried. My question is WHY ARE WE FIGHTING IN THE FIRST PLACE ??? Firstly Afghanistan is thousands of miles away, nothing to do with the United Kingdom , the majority of their population couldnt give two hoots who, or where we are, and some are prepared to kill us when we go. Now unless Im completely stupid, which Im not , why the bloody hell are we sending troops halfway around the world to fight in a war we have no right to be involved in, a war between countries that have absolutely no positive effect on the UK economy , and for goodness sake, why. We need to learn to STOP meddling in other countries business, Afghanistan has NOTHING to do with us, would they help or interfere if we were at war? ABSOLUTELY NOT. How many of our troops must perish for NO reason ?? Get the troops out of there TODAY and leave them to get on with whatever it is they are fighting about, it's NOT our business. |
